The Toll Roads’ Guide to Summer Fun

The Toll Roads, State Routes 73, 133, 241 and 261, are here to help you spend less time in traffic and more time soaking up the sun. Whether you’re planning a beach day or out on the town, there’s always something new to explore.

For the Outdoor Adventurer

Summer is a great time to escape into nature on one of Orange County’s many hiking trails and regional parks. Want to check out our only conservation area open to the public? Bonita Creek Reservoir and Mitigation site was once a narrow concrete channel that has been restored to a thriving wetland and coastal sage scrub community. You can find the Bonita Creek trail map on the City of Newport Beach’s website here. Or for a sandier adventure, pack your beach towels and sunscreen and hop on the 73 Toll Road to skip traffic and easily access the beautiful beaches along the coast.

For the Local Explorer

Sometimes summer plans don’t require a full itinerary. Take The Toll Roads to explore a new neighborhood, grab lunch at a new restaurant or enjoy live music at one of Orange County’s many summer concerts or movies in the park. Planning to visit the OC Fair or browse local art at the Sawdust Art Festival? Wherever you’re heading, The Toll Roads connect you to Orange County’s favorite summer traditions.

For the Weekend Traveler

Take a long weekend and explore California with FasTrak! From San Diego to the Bay, your account with The Toll Roads can be used on every tolled bridge, express lane and road in California. And, if you’re heading out-of-state, our accountholders can use their account to pay tolls on facilities in Dallas/Fort Worth and Tyler, Texas thanks to our partnership with North Texas Tollway Authority. You can learn more about the partnership atTheTollRoads.com/NorthTexas.

No matter how you choose to spend your summer, The Toll Roads are proud to help connect you to the people and places that make Orange County so special. Be sure to follow @TheTollRoads on Facebook, Instagram, X and Threads for travel tips or to see where our Community Engagement team will be this summer!
