About

The Toll Roads Blog is the place to get the most current news and detailed information about The Toll Roads, commuting in Southern California and driving with FasTrak.

The Toll Roads are State Routes 73, 133, 241 and 261 located in Orange County, Calif.  The Toll Roads and The Toll Roads Blog are operated by The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA).

TCA is a public agency comprised of  two joint powers authorities formed by the California legislature in 1986 to plan, finance, construct and operate Orange County’s 51-mile public toll road system.

A quarter of a million people from all over Southern California use The Toll Roads each day and annual revenue totals $270 million. Elected officials from surrounding cities and county supervisorial districts are appointed to serve on TCA’s boards of directors. Public oversight ensures that the interests of local communities and drivers are served and that TCA continues to meet the region’s growing need for congestion-free transportation alternatives.

  1. We have had to deal with the 2 mile, two lane back up on 241/91 east bound for 14 yrs Now it a 3 lane back up with cutting in causing more road rage. It seems there is a couple solutions 1.easy fix for the back up from 3-6pm weekday.on the transition you could make the inside lane continue as a car pool lane for a mile and a half so sowly they would merge left as they get farther down the 91 east bound.by weir cyn. or farther east.2. A over pass could be built to dump cars into the existing tollroad. With more homes and drivers being add too the cities from Orange county to Corona etc even with the new expansion it will be of no help for the toll rd transition .With all the cutting in and road rage someone will be killed if there isn’t a better solution. When we pay so much to use these roads and then they do not help the flow of traffic it’s frustrating. maybe when its backed up and take 1 hour from the back of the 2 mile line you could refund our money. This is just bad business! you make the money we lose time with out family. Sincerely n Frustrated The Brady Family Please do something

  2. Our family use 241 everyday. We are always running into a problem moving from 91 into 241 south. It’s terrible!!! Bigger problem is when we travel 241 north bound into 91 west. There’s a long line ot people cutting in at the last minute to 241 riverside. We spend $200-300 a month on toll and the wait time on the toll road is just as long on the regular freeway. We don’t see any point in paying toll to wait and see people cutting in illigally to make others wait for a long time after hard day of work and school stress. Please do something for people who should pass without any traffic jam to west bound 91 from 241 north. We’ve been using the toll for over 10 years and it’s not getting any better but worse.
